Day 40: Sat 11 Feb - Dalmeny to Denhams Beach, 69km

Clouds, clearing to very hot
Start time: 10:40am; arrived: 12:30pm
Walk: 5km

After a coffee we went for a walk along the track for about 30 mins. Upon our return to the park Wendy was asked to provide some professional advice to a very sick man, which she duly did and told him he needed to back to the hospital and tell them the whole story (not sure if they did though).

We were a little late leaving the park due to the Canberra mob wanting to say hi and bye. It didn't matter too much as G&Y went for a swim after packing up and leaving. We stopped in Tuross Head for mornos made in the van. We took the more scenic route to Denhams Beach rather than the highway and arrived just after midday. And, that's when all the fun started! It was already 36 degC and when Gunther went to wind is jockey wheel down, it decided to come away from the draw bar - the very inadequate weld just gave way. He managed to take the weight on the van's front legs and then used dad's welder to weld the bracket back onto the draw bar. First of all he had to straighten the bracket out as it had bent when the weld gave way. The whole process took an hour and a half and it was hot (up to 40 degC)! Everyone was sweating and Gunther was fuming as well. Thank goodness for aircon - the house was a pleasant 24 degC and mum made egg and bacon rolls for us all. It was then time for a well earned snooze, followed by an afternoon walk to the beach.

Mum and dad went out for dinner (pre-arranged) so we had to get our own.
