Day 20: Sun 22 Jan - Langhorne Creek to Kingston SE, 223km

Sunny
Start time: 8:10am; arrival: 12:45pm

Cycle: 13.5km

We left before G&Y and travelled around Lake Alexandrina to Wellington where we caught the ferry; the crossing took about 3 minutes, and it was free!  We stopped in Meningie to wait for the Fischers and to have mornos. Whilst Wendy made the coffee, Greg went for a walk and came back with two vanilla slices which were not very nice at all.  We then went for a wander through the craft shop where Wendy found a “Beswick” china plate which she bought for her mum.

We decided on Kingston SE as our nightly stopover point and found a really nice free camp where we could stay connected.  There was a fishing competition just finishing up when we arrived and there was not a lot of free space in the park.  After lunch and a snooze, we awoke to find the park almost empty!  We went for a ride around the place which didn’t take too long.  We visited the Historic Cape Jaffa Lighthouse (it had been relocated to Kingston in 1975-76) and Larry The Big Red Lobster.
