Day 16: Wed 18 Jan - Adelaide

Cool and windy

Cycle: 27km

After an early morning heart starter ride and then mornos, we headed off for Hahndorf in the truck. First stop was Mount Lofty which was very cold and windy and we did not stay long. We got a pretty good view of Adelaide and surrounds though.  It was then onto Hahndorf and after finding a suitable place to park, we went for a short stroll before having lunch at a CafĂ©/restaurant serving traditional German food (we ate here in 2013 as well).  Greg ordered the three sausage dish, and took two home in a doggie bag they were so huge. We then continued the stroll up and then back down the main street to settle the lunch and to have a look around; there are some very interesting shops in Hahndorf.  Once lunch was settled, we just had to have an ice cream (two very large scoops!) which G&Y paid for.  We strolled a bit more whilst eating the ice creams.  Because we just hadn’t had quite enough to eat already, we decided to visit Melba’s Chocolates in Woodside.  The ‘factory’ was not much to write about, but we did buy a few goodies for consumption at a later date.  We had had enough of playing tourist and headed home.  We stopped off at Woolies and Dan Murphy’s for another resupply.

The rest of the afternoon was spent snoozing, reading and surfing the net.
