Day 25: Fri 27 Jan - Portland to Port Campbell, 170km

Sunny, but cool and windy
Start time: 9:35am; arrival: 3:30pm

Walk: 4.5km

Our first stop was at the Codrington wind farm.  Unfortunately the windmills were too far away to see properly, but you could pay for the privilege of having a guided tour; we chose not to and moved right along.  Morning tea was had in Port Fairy, which is quite a large town.  We parked the vans and walked the streets and eventually found a bakery/cafe.  Greg had a slice of apple pie and Wendy had a raspberry muffin.  Both were not quite as good as they looked.  We did a bit more wandering and then left.

Next stop was at Bay of Islands, near Peterborough, which was like viewing the 12 Apostles, except there were only two!  We had our home-made lunch here overlooking the water.

We overnighted at Port Campbell in the Recreation Reserve.  Although we did not have power or water, we still had to pay $15 per person.  It did have an amenities block, so I guess that has to be maintained.  The place was full of very noisy and inconsiderate backpackers who partied until 3am!!
